My first post! A bit about me..

I started out as an instructional aide in an ABA classroom for students with autism. I am now going into my fourth year of teaching in a Multiply-disabled/self-contained classroom for students mainly with autism, in New Jersey.  I am ALMOST finished with grad school where I will be earning my master's degree in special education along with an LDTC certification. I am starting this blog to create a space for support and resources for other teachers, and to document our adventures in room 117! Here is a picture of my husband and I, and our pride and joy, Miss Bella.

    Andrea, I think your blog is off to a great start! We have a "creation station" in our classroom with all kinds of "trash" to make into art projects. I print out pictures of ideas I find on the web and post them above the desk. The kids really enjoy it. I have been thinking about adding recycling tubs, thanks for sharing this great idea.     Nice start. I love reading why people blog. I started my teacher blog a month ago. I just added a new feature--The Teacher Blog Directory. Good luck with everything!
    oh. It would be good to disable the word verification.
